Matthew Gill graduated with BDS from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1993 winning the Coltman prize for advanced restorative care. He has passed a number of further examinations since then -
MFGDP(UK) in 1996, from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Diploma in Conscious Sedation in 1998 from Newcastle University.
He was awarded a distinction in Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Implant Dentistry in 2013 from Newcastle University.
Matthew was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II to be a Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to Dentistry in 2008
He works as a Speciality Doctor in the Maxillofacial Department for South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust providing advanced restorative care for patients following head and neck cancer.
Matthew is a founding partner of this independent practice in Cleadon which opened in December 2019

That was the boring part, now a bit about me.
I love being a dentist and I am very lucky to do a job that continues to inspire me. I work with an incredible team of people and treat some amazing patients all of whom make me smile and make coming to work enjoyable.
I have lived in South Tyneside for 20 years and worked here for more than 25 years and love the people and the area, it is such a great place with both the beauty and fresh air of the coast, and fantastic supportive communities. I have been married to my lovely wife Caroline for over 26 years and have 2 great kids Oliver and Rebecca. Nothing makes me happier or more proud when they share their news and successes with me.
I enjoy getting out for a cycle, when I can - time is very precious, but I always make time to walk Ben (the family dog) along the seafront no matter how hard the wind is blowing. If you see me be sure to say hello.
